The EN 60204-1 standard represents, in fact, the state of the art for the design and construction of electrical equipment of machines, including electrical panels connected to the machines. Therefore it is the standard that must be followed by all manufacturers of machines and industrial automation.
This standard is harmonized both under the Machinery Directive 2006/42 / EC and the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35 / EC, therefore its compliance ensures the presumption of conformity with respect to both directives.
The standards of the EN 61439 series are instead harmonized only pursuant to the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35 / EU and not to the Machinery Directive 2006/42 / EC.
The latest edition of the CEI EN 60204-1 standard was published on 01/12/2018.
